Residential Real Estate

Howard assists both individuals and businesses with real estate matters. For over 25 years, he has represented hundreds of individuals in both Vermont and New Hampshire with the purchase, sale, and/or refinancing of residential real estate properties including:

  • Drafting of initial Purchase and Sales Agreements
  • Resolution of title issues and the ultimate closing
  • Drafting boundary agreements, easements, and land use restrictions 
  • Litigation of real estate issues
  • Extensive work on the financial aspects of various transactions

Because of his litigation experience, Howard is also uniquely equipped to resolve issues that may arise after a purchase.


Business and commercial transactions

Howard has represented business and commercial clients both in the United States and Europe across many different transactions. His background includes the representation of General Motors, Volkswagen, Saab-Scania in products liability litigation, as well as the assistance of many corporate and commercial clients in the litigation of business disputes. Previous experience includes:

  • Business entity creation
  • Drafting documents relating to the purchase and sale of a business
  • Commercial leases
  • Litigation of business disputes

Commercial Real estate

Howard represents many businesses and individuals in connection with the purchase and/or lease of commercial properties.  Most commercial property transactions are unique in many ways and thus require skill and insight in the drafting of documents. Some of Howard’s previous experience includes:

  • Drafting commercial real estate agreements and leases
  • Resolution of title issues through negotiation or litigation
  • Complicated real estate closings, some of which have included simultaneous closings of multiple properties in several states
  • Drafting agreements involving environmental contamination issues
